KARG 2016 Award Ceremony and Special Lectures on Water Environment

Program Studi Teknik Kimia FTI menjadi tuan rumah acara “KARG 2016 Award Ceremony and Special Lectures on Water Environment” yang diadakan di Ruang Galeri Teknik Kimia,Gedung Labtek X lantai 2 pada hari Jum’at 19 Agustus 2016. Acara ini diadakan bersamaan dengan peringatan 75 tahun Pendidikan Teknik Kimia di Indonesia serta didukung oleh Pusat Studi Lingkungan Hidup (PSLH-ITB) dan KARG – Kurita Water Environment Foundation & AIT Research Grant.

KARG bertujuan untuk mempromosikan pengembangan sumber daya manusia melalui penelitian untuk mengatasi masalah air dan atau masalah lingkungan di Asia Tenggara. Fokus penelitian pada tahun 2016 adalah yang berhubungan dengan Lingkungan Air, Sains dan Teknologi. Acara ini dihadiri oleh Rektor ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA, Dekan FTI, Prof. Deddy Kurniadi, Dr.Eng., dosen FTI, tamu undangan serta mahasiswa ITB.

Dibuka dengan sambutan Ketua Komite KARG Indonesia, Prof. Tjandra Setiadi Ph. D. dilanjutkan dengan sambutan dari Rektor ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA serta sambutan dari Chairman Kurita Water Environment Foundation, Prof. Koichi Fujie.

Acara dilanjutkan dengan penyerahan penghargaan kepada para peneliti di 3 negara yaitu : Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand oleh Prof. Koichi Fujie (Kurita Water Environment Foundation) dan Prof. Chongrak Polprasert (Ketua Komite Seleksi KARG Award 2016). Dua wakil ITB penerima penghargaan KARG Award adalah Megawati Zunita (Teknik Kimia-FTI) dan Choerudin (Teknik Kimia-FTI).

Dalam acara KARG Award 2016 juga diisi dengan Kuliah Khusus tentang Lingkungan Air yang dipresentasikan oleh Prof. Koichi Fujie dan Prof. I Gede Wenten (Teknik Kimia-FTI). Berikut daftar penerima beasiswa dan penghargaan KARG Award 2016 beserta judul proposal penelitiannya :

  1. Hamjinda, Nutta S, from Kasetsart University: Title:Biodegradation enhancement of ciprofloxacin in hospital wastewater using Pseudomonas putida entrapped in a complex of polyvinyl alcohol and sodium alginate gel beads in membrane bioreactor.
  2. Phetrak, Athit from Mahidol University: Title: Adsorptive removal of chromium by magnetic-impregnated powder ac tivated carbon using electroplating wastewater.
  3. Jampeetong Arunothai from Chiang Mai University; Title: Effects of wastewater on root structure and radial oxygen loss from roots of four selected tropical wetland plants.
  4. Rucman Stefan from Chiang Mai University: Title: Biopolymer nanocomposite filled with iron based nanoparticles for heavy metal sorption.
  5. Xue Wenchao from Chulalongkorn University: Title: Development of A Novel Catalyst-Coated Forward Osmosis Membrane for Industrial Wastewater Reclamation.
  6. Sirikanchana Kwanrawee from Chulabhorn Research Institute. Title: Evaluation of DNA-based assays for discrimination of human vs. animal fecal pollution in Thailand’s water resources.
  7. Pussayanavin Tatchai from Phranakhon Rajabhat University. Title: Improving the Performance of Solar Septic Tanks by Recovering Heat from the Compressed Air System.
  8. Thuptimdang Pumis from University of Phayao. Title: Water-limiting conditions affecting the biofilm tolerance to the organophosphorus pesticide chlorpyrifos.
  9. Wulan Safrihatini Atikah from Politeknik STTT Bandung. Title: Performance of TiCl4 as an Alternative against Conventional Coagulant in  Textile Wastewater Treatment.
  10. Choerudin from ITB. Title:        Development and Characterisation of Aerobic Granular Sludge in Bioreactor with Intermittent Aeration (Modified Fed-Batch and Continuous-Flow) for Actual Textile Wastewater Treatment.
  11. Yusuf Wibisono from        University of Brawijaya. Title:        Anti-algal surface engineered by using charged hydrophylic polymer for multi purposes in aqueous systems.
  12. Sari Ayu Wulandari from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro. Title:        Monitoring System of River Water Quality in Demak, based wireless sensor electronic nose (WS-ENose).
  13. Megawati Zunita from ITB. Title: Composite Nanoparticles Antibacterial Membrane for Water Treatment.
  14. Luu Vinh Phuc from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. Title: Membrane Bioreactor for reduction of antibiotics in hospital wastewater.
  15. Dang Thi Nu Y from Hue University of Schiences. Title: Water quality and stable isotope composition (?13C and ?15N) of suspended particulate organic matter in Cau Hai lagoon, Vietnam.
  16. Bui Thi Thuy from Water Resources University, Vietnam. Title: Dissolved air flotation of freshwater algae, concerning algal properties and bubble characteristics.
  17. Nguyen Thi My Hanh from Hanoi Architechtural University. Title: Application of Anammox Process to remove ammonium in wastewater from combined sewerage system.
  18. Tran Hoai Son from Institute of Environmental Science and Engineering, Vietnam. Title: Innovative Solutions for indoor water supply system and pumping in high rise buildings for energy saving.
